With his trial set to begin immediately, New Rochelle resident Jonathan Augustin-Miranda pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child, specifically to the charge of course of sexual conduct against a child.
According to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., Augustin-Miranda was arrested by New Rochelle Police following an investigation into allegations that he had sexual intercourse from a child. It was determined that between Dec. 25, 2017, and Jan. 27 last year, Augustin-Miranda sexually abused a young child on multiple occasions before he was arrested on Jan. 30 last year.
As part of his plea, Augustin-Miranda will be sentenced on Tuesday, March 17, to nine years in state prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
